I am Sachin Arun Lanjekar – a third generation mango farmer from the heartlands of Ratnagiri (Konkan), Maharashtra, the throne
of the world renowned Ratnagiri-Devgad Hapus Alphonso mangoes. My family has been cultivating and farming ratnagiri mangoes on roughly 50 acres of farm land since around 1950, so you can say I know a thing or two about mangoes. 🙂
To cut a long story short, we (me and my team of 100+ knowledgeable and experienced people) harvest roughly one million delicious, carbide-free, all-natural ratnagiri hapus mangoes each year. We then offer these direct-from-farm mangoes for sale all over India and abroad. We offer raw as well as semi-ripened quality alphonso mangoes packed either in wooden boxes or in stylish corrugated boxes suitable for corporate and/or other gifting purposes. We also produce canned alphonso mango pulp under the brand name ‘SONA’.
If you can imagine it, the Devgad and Ratnagiri regions are rather remote and not well developed and the general level of education here is not very high, especially among the farming communities. This is probably why Devgad and Ratnagiri, despite being amongst the most popular and richest mango farming regions, no actual farmer has a significant online presence.
This prompted me to create and publish this site and blog where I can share my ‘insider’s’ views and information on the ratnagiri mangoes and you can shop and order the same from the comf
ort of your home. From this perspective, it would not be an overstatement to say that this – QualityAlphonsoMangoes.com – is arguably the first-ever website about ratnagiri alphonso mangoes to have been brought online by an actual ratnagiri farmer.
